Selwyn College Choir Concert — Saturday, September 11, 2010, 8:00 p.m.

St. George’s Cathedral. The Choir of Selwyn College, Cambridge, England, directed by Canadian Sarah MacDonald, will present a concert. As well as three services per week in the Selwyn College Chapel, the choir sings concerts and services throughout the UK, recently in venues including Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral, and St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh, Scotland. Its repertoire ranges from the 10th to the 21st century. They have broadcast services for BBC Radio, have sung live on television, and have made a number of recordings. Every year the choir undertakes an international tour, and in the recent past destinations have included Israel and Palestine, Canada, New Zealand, the United States, and much of mainland Europe. Kingston RCCO Annual Fall Kick-Off Party! — Sunday, September 19, 2010, 3:00 p.m.

Carol and Gord Ramer’s home. All members and subscribers (and significant others) are invited. Ramers will supply a main dish and drinks (all kinds). Just bring a salad OR dessert and your significant other (if you choose to). There is NO meeting. This is a social gathering and you are most welcome to come! We will plan to eat at 4:00 p.m. Please RSVP by September 15th to by email (or phone her at 613.374.2108), so we can get in supplies in quantity. We look forward to seeing you. Let’s hope the weather cooperates, but it will happen nonetheless....

A Musical Celebration of F.R.C. Clarke — Sunday, October 17, 2010, 7:30 p.m.

Sydenham Street United Church. This concert in honour of Fred Clarke will include works for choir, organ, solo voice, instrumental ensembles and more. It will be presented by the SSUC choir, the Kingston Choral Society, as well as a number of other local musicians. We hope that you and your friends will be able to join us as we honour Fred and enjoy some of the music he created over the years. Tickets will be available at the door.

Choral Evensong and Choir Festival — Sunday, October 24, 2010, 5:00 p.m.

St. George’s Cathedral. Choirs from churches in the area are invited to sing in this service. The rehearsal will begin at 3:00 p.m. sharp, and the service itself will be at 5:00 p.m. Directors of choirs who would like to take part are asked to contact before October 18th. The program of music to be sung will include (all of these pieces are available free on the Choral Public Domain Library site):
